Regularly check that the pouch is watertight. Snags or micro-punctures caused by keys, for example, can impair its watertightness.
When practicing sports, it's best to put the pouch under a UV top, a T-shirt or a lifejacket.
When practicing at high speed (Jet Ski sailing, kite surfing, water skiing...), keep the pouch out of the wind and put it under your wetsuit, for example.
