Warm enough for winter hiking?
Like animal fur and feathers, this fleece's brushed interior traps air to keep you warm. The cuffs at the ends of the sleeves also limit the infiltration of cold air to ensure your thermal comfort outdoors.
Why is fleece so warm?
Polar fleece, made from synthetic fibers, aims to reproduce the performance of wool: warmth, thermal insulation, while being lighter. It's soft, comfortable, quick-drying and breathable.
A soft yet resistant component
Our products undergo strict quality controls to validate their resistance. They are tested for resistance to pilling, fading and frequent washing. The Martindale test verifies abrasion resistance, by exposing a fabric sample to continuous rubbing.
A comfortable, practical fleece
The cut and stretch fabric of this fleece ensure ease of movement, ideal for hiking on snow.
With zipped pockets to keep your belongings safe and your hands warm, and a cosy hood, it's ideal for tackling the cold at altitude.
Dressing for a snow outing
To face winter, follow the 3-layer principle:
1) Technical, breathable underwear.
2) Sweater or fleece for warmth and moisture transfer.
3) Jacket for protection against the elements.
Make sure the whole ensemble is breathable to wick away moisture.
How to care for fleece
To machine-wash your fleece without damaging it, choose a program at 40° max. Turn inside out and check that all pockets are closed. Do not exceed 1000 rpm for the spin cycle to protect the fabric. Do not use a tumble dryer.
