TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Polar component: Insulation through air

The purpose of the fleece component is to trap air thanks to the volume created by its texture (and the scraping of the mesh).
This air keeps the body warm thanks to its insulating power.
This component has been laboratory-tested for a comfort temperature of 7 to 10°C without an additional jacket.

2-year warranty

We age-test our hiking fleeces to guarantee their durability. We guarantee:
- resistance to abrasion from backpacks and moving arms, to delay the onset of pilling typical of this material
- seam strength
- resistance of the fleece material after several washes
- colorfastness after washing, against UV rays or contact with perspiration.

Our global design center Quechua is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute Savoie. This location makes it a real meeting place for our teams (designers, product managers, engineers...) and outdoor sports enthusiasts. TESTS

Our laboratory Decathlon Sportslab, based in Lille, also contributes to the innovation and development of our products Quechua. It groups together 4 themes, each with its own space and technological tools: Morphology (thanks in particular to 3D analysis) Movement sciences Thermal comfort (with its four climatic chambers) Behavioral and sensory sciences. All our fleeces are tested on thermal mannequins with a protocolized test.
