WATERPROOFNESS TEST WATER COLUMN (so-called "Schmerber" test)

The resistance of a fabric to water pressure is measured in mm water column (test based on JIS 1092B standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric.

A component with a waterproof rating of 20,000mm can withstand an applied pressure of 2.0 Bars.

WATERPROOFING SHOWER TEST

In our opinion, this test is the most representative, since a product made from a highly waterproof fabric can get water through its seams, flaps or zips...
In this test, the products are placed under a shower to test their overall waterproofness.
Our 500 poncho protects you from a heavy downpour (i.e. 12 cm of rain in 2 hours).
