The choice of metals for our cooking pots: a decisive choice :

We chose 18/8 stainless steel (304) because it combines food safety with long-term resistance: it doesn't oxidize and prevents corrosion. And as stainless steel is slightly less conductive than aluminum, we've integrated a double aluminum bottom under our 500 range pots and pans. This provides greater heat diffusion and heating efficiency, reducing the amount of gas needed for cooking.

How did we choose the coverings for our cooking pots?

We chose a PTFE Xylan + coating from Whitford for its non-stick/resistance/price balance and because it is suitable for thin metal thicknesses (which is not the case with ceramics).
This coating contains no PFOA-based glue and is suitable for cooking food.
And as with all coatings, we advise you to avoid using metal cutlery or utensils, to avoid damaging the coatings.

And now, we'll tell you all about the plastics in our kitchen!

We have chosen polyamide (cutlery and handles), polypropylene (plates, mugs), Tritan (lids) and silicone (trivets) because they are lightweight and highly resistant to heat (even at 100°C), impact and deformation.
All our food-contact plastics are Bisphenol-A (BPA)-free, in accordance with current French regulations.
However, do not place plastic parts in direct contact with a flame, as they may melt.

Our tips for getting the most out of your popote:

Our popotes are compatible with all types of fires (wood, gas, induction...).
The frying pan has a retractable handle that locks (unlocks) by pushing (pulling) the metal piece positioned in its center.
The lid adapts to the saucepan and frying pan and also serves as a strainer. Grooves are provided on the lid to hold it in place without burning.
Plates have a structured design on the underside to limit heat transfer.

How to store your kitchen utensils

To optimize overall space and reduce noise when transporting, we've drawn up a suggested order for storing the elements:
Cutlery attached to the lid, mugs and plates in the saucepan. The trivet locks everything together, and the cover makes it easy to transport, even sale.
If you're in a hurry, or if you're not an expert at tidying up, you can also put all the elements in the saucepan (it's just noisier and less optimized!).

How do you clean and maintain your stove?

Before first use, rinse all components 3 times in clean water.
After use, wash components in soapy water (preferably hot), then dry them before storing in a dry place.
All components are dishwasher-safe, but we recommend washing your pots and pans by hand (to preserve the coating). Avoid using abrasive sponges or sand to clean the inside of utensils.

Are there any things you should avoid doing when cooking?

To avoid damaging them, never heat your pots and pans when empty.
In the case of a wood fire, make sure that the flames do not come into direct contact with the plastic parts.
Do not use metal utensils with non-stick coatings. And if you're carrying items in your stove that could damage the coating, place them in a cover or cloth.
Finally, make sure you always lock the pan handle when you're using it.

Materials and regulations

All our products and materials comply with current standards, and materials in contact with food do not contain Bisphenol A (BPA) in accordance with current French regulations.

Here are a few examples of mailn design in use:

The saucepan is graduated to help you measure volumes and quantities.
The plates have a handle so you can hang them up to dry more quickly
The silicone trivet also serves as a strap to keep the pot closed once everything's put away.
And finally, the cover allows you to isolate your kitchen area from the rest of your stuff in your bag!

Our design team tells the story of the MH500 cooker:

From the outset, we wanted to offer you a product that would enable you to take everything you need to eat and cook outdoors, while remaining clean and practical in use.
What happened next? A lot of people involved at every stage of the design process, 3D models, tests with enthusiasts and neophytes, a lot of emotions, and in the end a product we're proud of: a "turnkey" popote that's easy to transport and use, so you can cook with peace of mind outdoors.

A few words of gastronomy from our design team:

"Along with hiking, one of our passions is cooking. Even outdoors, you can cook lots of dishes other than pasta. And why not pick your own produce while hiking. In the end, it's easy to cook, and that's what we wanted to achieve with this popote: we wanted to make life easier for hikers. Food doesn't have the same flavor when you eat outside. You appreciate food differently.
