How do you assess the protection provided by a shin guard?
The protection a product gives you is based on two things: coverage of the zone to be protected and shock absorption.
- Zones of protection: we have carried out anatomical studies of the tibia.
- Shock absorption: we worked with a dozen boxers to study the energy transmitted during a sparring blow at an advanced level.
The 500 shin pad absorbs shocks of 10 joules (the standard is 3 joules) while remaining light and close to the shin.
How do you design a shin pad that stays in place?
To ensure that your shin-guard stays in place throughout your session, we've taken anatomical data as our starting point. Our aim? To create a design that perfectly matches the shape of the shin.
The shape of the foam is modelled on the natural line of the shin, for a perfect fit of the protection.
We've added two straps with a two-way buckle system so you can adjust the shin guard to your morphology.
What is the twist effect on shin guards?
The twist effect is when the shin pad slips during training: sideways, upwards or downwards. Sometimes, you spend the whole session putting your pads back in place. That's why we're proud to offer a shin pad that provides a real solution. Boxers can now concentrate on their boxing technique! A shin pad that stays in place gives a feeling of freedom of movement, fits better and makes training more comfortable.
