TECHNICAL INFORMATION

ASTROX series description

Power-oriented racket. ASTROX series (replacing the VOLTRIC range) designed to meet the demands of an aggressive, attacking game. More or less head balance to accentuate your attacks with powerful smashes.

Weight Astrox 77 play: 83g - 4U (80-84 g)

Weight is expressed in grams. Racquets range in weight from 60 to over 100 grams. They are classified into "U" weight ranges. The lighter the racket, the easier it is to handle, the more comfortable it is, the less traumatic it is for the arm and the more arm speed it provides. On the contrary, the heavier the racket, the more powerful it is.

Flexibility Astrox 77 play: very flexible

Flexibility is defined by the shaft's ability to deform when struck. The rigidity of a racket ranges from flexible to rigid. The more flexible the shaft, the more forgiveness, playing comfort and length of shuttlecock it offers. On the other hand, the stiffer the shaft, the greater the repulsion and precision, but the greater the arm speed required. On the other hand, a rigid racket is less forgiving of hitting errors.

Equilibre Astrox 77 play: in the lead.

Balance is the distribution of the racquet's weight. It is indicated in millimeters and measured from the bottom of the handle to the balance point. The more the racquet is in the handle, the more maneuverable and responsive it is, perfect for a defensive or doubles player. On the contrary, the higher the head of the racquet, the more power it offers, ideal for offensive players. On the other hand, it will feel heavier and more difficult to handle.

Composition Astrox 77 play: graphite

The composition of a badminton racket influences its price. Steel and/or aluminum rackets are solid, heavy and suitable for leisure use. Graphite/aluminum and full graphite rackets are lighter and more popular with advanced beginners. Finally, rackets made of High-Modulus Graphite and other technologies such as Tungsten are designed for expert players.

Astrox 77 play length: 675 mm

The length of an adult snowshoe is measured in millimetres and varies between 660 mm and 680 mm. Only the length of the shaft varies. The shorter the shaft, the easier it is to handle and the better the feel. The longer it is, the more inertia it offers to accentuate power.

Astrox 77 play grip size: G5 = small (80-84 mm)

Grip size is expressed in millimeters. Racquet handle sizes range from 75 to over 90 millimeters, and are classified in size ranges expressed in "G". The thicker the handle, the easier it is to grip, but the more difficult it is to change grip. The thinner the handle, the more dexterity it offers and the greater the power of the fingers to give the racket speed.

Original Astrox 77 play string

The racquet is originally strung with Yonex multi-filament factory string with a gauge of 0.70 mm.

Original Astrox 77 play voltage: 8-9 kg / 17.5-20 lbs

Tension is expressed in kilograms (kg) or pounds (lbs). Snowshoes are strung at around 9 kg (20 lbs), but can vary downwards as the string loses tension over time.

Recommended voltage Astrox 77 play: 9-12.5 kg / 20-28 lbs

Each brand specifies a recommended tension to avoid frame breakage due to stringing, impact or string breakage. Some snowshoes with reinforced frames can withstand a tension of up to 16 kg / 35 lbs.

Astrox 77 play string pattern: 22x21

The string pattern is expressed as the number of vertical strings X the number of horizontal strings. In badminton, we speak of uprights X crossbars on a racket. A reduced string pattern increases power and comfort but reduces durability.

Stringing instructions for 76 eyelets with 1st top crosspiece at H7: B = bottom, H = top

Recording in 4 knots. Upright: start at the top center and tie to B9 (skip eyelets H7, H9 and H11). Pass through B12 to H16 then back to H14 to descend to B10 and finish by tying the knot on eyelet B8. (same on opposite side) Travers: Tie a knot on eyelet B6 and start traversing from B9. Continue across to H7 (skip eyelets H12 and H10) and finish by tying the knot on eyelet H5.

Astrox 77 play frame technology

Graphite, AERO+BOX Frame, ISOMETRIC, Rotational Generator System

Composition of the Astrox 77 play stem

Graphite, Built-in T-Joint

AERO + BOX FRAME

Frame combining aerodynamic front profile and extra-rigid rear profile for a combination of faster swing speed and solid, stable feel at impact with the steering wheel.

ROTATIONAL GENERATOR SYSTEM

Applying the counterweight theory, weight is distributed by transferring it from the end of the handle to the racket head for maximum control. The transition to the next stroke can be made smoothly, with a succession of rapid movements

ISOMETRIC

The ISOMETRIC design increases the sweetspot by 7%*. Compared to a conventional round frame, an ISOMETRIC square-shaped racket generates a wider sweetspot by optimizing the intersection of the main and cross strings.

BUILT-IN T-JOINT

Integrated T-joint increases strength between frame and shaft and greatly reduces torsion for greater control
