What is the Full EVA concept?
This is an exclusive padel innovation from Decathlon : the racket is made from a single piece of EVA foam with a composite fiber covering on the racket surface. The enlarged EVA foam surface increases the sieve's centering zone and therefore optimizes tolerance to hitting errors, for better ball control.
Have you heard of padel?
Padel was born in Mexico in the late 60s. This fun, friendly sport soon spread to Spain and Argentina, and then to all the Spanish-speaking countries of South America. Today, Padel is the second most popular sport in Spain, behind soccer but ahead of tennis! And there are now 8 million players worldwide.
So how do you play padel?
The game is played 2 against 2 (doubles). The serve is diagonally spooned and there are 2 balls allowed. One rebound is allowed. The ball must bounce off the ground before hitting any part of the court. A ball may be hit against a wall after the rebound (against a wall only, not against the fence). The ball may leave the court after the rebound and may be caught outside the court. Points are scored in the same way as in tennis.
And to get you off to a good start, our design team has some advice for you:
For a good start, a good tip is to use balls designed for beginners. They're softer and slower, making it easier to master trajectories. Appropriate footwear prevents slipping on padel courts, which are often made of synthetic turf with sand.
Finally, taking lessons saves time and, above all, avoids copying gestures that can be taken from tennis or squash, for example.
