10-YEAR WARRANTY
We attach great importance to friction resistance.
The R&D department of confection lourde, a partner of Quechua for the research and validation of its components and assemblies, carries out tests (on components, seams and the finished product) simulating the aging of backpacks.
Their results enable us to guarantee the tested bags for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase indicated on the sales receipt.
DON'T THROW IT AWAY, PUT IT BACK!
Our products accompany you on your mountain hikes.
As you progress, they age, and certain parts can wear out or break.
To make repairs easier, we offer buckles and a chest clip compatible with your bag in the "Bag accessories / trekking" section. Don't throw it away, repair it!
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES WITH THE OLD MH500 BAG?
The back of this new bag has been completely reworked for greater comfort: a taut mesh with reinforcement allows more space between your back and the back of the bag to reduce the wet-back effect. The mesh used for the back is also softer than the old one. What's more, this new model is available in 2 sizes to suit both small and large body sizes.
The 2 hip pockets are more spacious and stretchable, and access to water bottles on the sides is easier.
WHICH SIZE TO CHOOSE?
During several field test sessions with male and female hikers of different sizes, we realized that for beddings between 20 and 40 liters, the difference in comfort was mainly linked to the height of the back of the bag. To better respond to these differences, we offer all our models in 2 sizes. If you're over 170 cm tall, choose size L. If you're under 170 cm tall, you'll be more comfortable with size S.
HYDRATATION
This bag can accommodate 1-liter, 2-liter or 3-liter pockets. Note, however, that the larger the pocket, the more space it will take up, to the detriment of storage space for other items.
The side pockets are designed for water bottles of up to 1 liter.
WHY ARE OUR RAIN COVERS ORANGE?
This is a deliberate choice, as we believe it's important to remain visible in the mountains, even in fog, in case of trouble. This orange color has the advantage of being visible from a helicopter.
It's also a visible color on the road if you use your bag for cycling.
CABIN LUGGAGE
When traveling by air, the maximum dimensions allowed for cabin baggage are 55x35x25cm3 (please note that this may vary from airline to airline).
This bag can therefore be used as cabin baggage, as long as you don't overload the hat.
HOW DO I FILL MY BACKPACK?
At the BOTTOM of the bag, place your sleeping gear, and near the back, your heavy gear. Slip your water bag into the compartment.
At the TOP of the bag, keep your waterproof jacket and fleece within easy reach.
In the pockets, you can put sunscreen, maps, cap and sunglasses. Cereal bars and phones can be stored in the belt pockets for quick access.
You can use the straps under the bag to attach a compact tent.
HOW DO I ADJUST MY BAG?
1 - Loosen all straps: shoulder straps, waist belt, load reminders (= the little straps above the shoulder straps on the shoulders)
2 - Put on the bag.
3 - Close the pack's waistbelt, positioning it at hip level, and tighten it until you feel secure
4 - Tighten the pack's shoulder straps
5 - Tighten the chest strap (don't over-tighten so as not to impede breathing)
6 - Adjust the load reminders (the pack comes to rest as close as possible to the shoulders)
HOW TO CARE FOR AND WASH A BACKPACK?
We recommend washing your backpack by hand. Use lukewarm, soapy water, possibly with a brush, paying particular attention to the parts in contact with your body (shoulder straps, back, hip belt), where you have perspired.
This is the safest way to ensure that the fabrics retain their properties, especially water repellency.
Then rinse generously with lukewarm water, and dry in a dry place away from direct sunlight (no radiators). Store in a dry place.
