TECHNICAL INFORMATION

How do I fill my bag for optimum comfort?

Place sleeping gear at the bottom. Near the back, place heavy equipment (tent, stove, food). Clothes can be stored around them. The ground sheet can be placed under the flap, and the tent under the bag if there's no room for it inside. Keep a waterproof jacket and fleece close at hand. Small items for the day (sun cream, map, glasses, etc.) are placed in the pockets. The water pouch is usually placed in the compartment along the back.

How do I adjust the back height of my bag?

Set the adjuster to the desired height, then adjust the bag (see "How do I adjust my bag?").
With the waistbelt over your pelvis, the shoulder straps should wrap around the front of your shoulders and the load reminders (sometimes also height-adjustable) should describe an angle of about 45° (they shouldn't go horizontally or vertically).
If the back feels too short or too long, readjust and try again, until you're satisfied.

How do I adjust my bag?

First, loosen all straps (shoulder straps, belt, load reminders).
Put the bag on. For bags of 50 l or more, place the belt on the hips (it should encompass the hipbones of the pelvis) and tighten it.
For smaller volumes, place it around the waist.
Tighten the shoulder straps.
Finally, adjust the load reminders to your liking.

How is bag volume measured?

The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardized method: we use small balls to fill the main compartment and each pocket. We then empty the balls into a graduated container, which gives us the equivalent volume in liters, with a tolerance of a few %.
The empty weight indicated is that of our reference sample. Slight variations may occur.

10-year warranty

The warranty covers defects in the backpack, excluding those resulting from normal wear and tear and abnormal conditions of use. This special 10-year warranty will only be granted on presentation of the product and the sales receipt. If the product is covered by the warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. This commercial warranty does not exclude legal warranties applicable in different countries and/or states.

Water compartment

The bag features an interior compartment for a water pouch. This is sold separately from the backpack.

Protect your bag from the rain

The backpack is not waterproof. We advise you to purchase a rain cover, available separately, if you feel the weather conditions are threatening.

Distribution

All backpack buckles are repairable and available as spare parts in the event of breakage.

TESTS

In the laboratory and in the field, we test the bag's resistance to abrasion, tearing, colorfastness, UV rays, washing and waterproofing.
Then a mannequin reproduces the aging of the weighted bag over several years, using fast-motion movements over thousands of cycles to check the resistance of the assemblies.
The components (fabrics, buckles, straps, foam, zips, etc.) are also tested separately, enabling us to guarantee these bags for 10 years.

All our backpacks are tested in use, by users representative of those for whom the products are designed, under conditions similar to those you would find in use. In particular, our "Test Missions" bring together the product manager and people not affiliated with QUECHUA to test, develop and validate our products.
