Capacity and compartmentalization
40 liters. Recommended for 2 to 4 people.
2 compartments of 20L each with multiple pockets and storage compartments to help organize your picnics:
- 1 isothermal compartment to store your food and drinks, with elastics to secure bottles and 2 mesh pockets for your cold packs,
- 1 tote bag to store your accessories (plates, cutlery, glasses...) and your sports/leisure equipment.
If you don't have enough space, use the elastics on the top.
Dimensions
For general dimensions, see above.
The insulated compartment has a 10mm thick enveloping and insulating wall, made of Polyethylene (PE) foam.
To form the two compartments, insulated and tote, the bag is divided in two across the width by an insulating wall. Each compartment is 14 cm wide.
Folding: to save space, simply fold the bag flat. Its thickness is reduced to 4 cm.
Isothermal
We tested this cooler in the laboratory, in accordance with EN 12546-2, at an ambient temperature of 32°C, without ice packs, filled to half its volume. The time taken to go from 5°C (temperature of food coming out of the fridge) to 15°C is 5 hours.
By adding 1.2 kg of ice pack, the time taken to go from 5°C to 15°C under the same conditions is 8 hours.
Tips on use for greater isothermicity
To enhance the thermal performance of your cooler, we recommend:
- Using cold accumulators,
- Keeping your cooler in the shade,
- Opening it only when necessary, and closing it promptly.
Waterproofing
This backpack is not waterproof on the inside. The bottom of the backpack does not retain water.
It is possible for condensation to form inside the bag and for a few drops of water to seep through the seams. Rest assured, this rarely happens and will not damage your food.
Carrying comfort
You can carry your cooler in two different ways: by hand with its central handle, or over the shoulder with its two handles.
Resistance
To increase the bag's resistance in a wilderness environment, we use a 600-denier polyester fabric to reinforce the bottom of the bag.
