TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Co-developed with Yannick Bestaven (winner of the 2020 Vendée Globe) to withstand a demanding round-the-world race

The Tribord Offshore PRO range has been developed and tested with Yannick Bestaven and other partner skippers. It meets their requirements during all their races, inshore and offshore, transatlantic, single-handed or with crew and on different boats: Yannick BESTAVEN (IMOCA), Quentin VLAMYNCK (Ocean 50 and Figaro 3), Achille NEBOUT, les VOILEUSES AU LARGE, Keni PIPEROL (Class 40), Romain LE GALL (Figaro 3) and Léo BOTHOREL (Mini 6.50).

Always at the right temperature

For sailing, our challenge is to design products that enable you to stay at the right temperature at all times, alternating between very active phases (heat production) and static phases when exposed to the wind (heat loss).
These midlayer sailing overalls:
1- insulate against the cold,
2- allow perspiration to evaporate and limit odors thanks to merino wool,
3- windproof and water-repellent,
4- slip under watch overalls.

Cold insulation

Following a thermal study of the human body, we have identified the zones of perspiration and heat loss during active and passive phases.
We have selected the appropriate components:
- merino merino wool (250 gr/m2) for its insulating properties, even when wet.
- fleece to complement wool in certain zones
- breathable mesh to wick away perspiration.
These 3 options vary according to the zones of the body.

Sweat evacuation and odor control

The integral zip with double slider is designed to evacuate perspiration during active phases (winching, sail handling, matossage...).
Merino wool also has the property of limiting odors (ISO 17299-3 laboratory test). On long voyages, this is a real plus.

Windproof and water-repellent

The outer fabric provides effective protection from the wind, a recurrent cause of cold. It is water-repellent, so midlayer 900 overalls are not waterproof.

Thin, light midlayer

It is designed to fit under a pair of shift overalls, thanks to its slim, flexible components.
A lycra ankle cuff adjusts the overall to your body shape and makes it easier to put on boots.
Weighs 887 grams in size L.

Toilet opening

The double central slider and rear opening zip allow you to go to the toilet without removing your overalls.

How to choose your midlayer size?

The midlayer has an adjustable waistband. It has been designed to be worn with thermal underwear.
For men, choose your usual size.
For women, we recommend choosing a size smaller than your usual size.
A Velcro adjustment on the shoulder straps allows the dungarees to be adjusted to your size.
