1 - The classic 150 A ECAILLES cross-country ski, the ski with a good grip for beginners!
Your child wants to discover classic cross-country skiing more in a walking/sliding mode?
Then the 150 scale ski is perfectly suited to his needs.
It's a maneuverable ski with excellent grip that will make it easy for him to get started and discover the joys of classic cross-country skiing!
2 - Choosing the right SIZE
The size of a cross-country ski depends on your level of practice and your weight, not on your height.
For the SKI 150 with scales:
- 25 to 34 Kg => 125 cm
- 30 to 39 Kg => 135 cm
- 35 to 44 Kg => 145 cm
- 40 to 49 Kg => 155 cm
- 45 to 54 Kg => 165 cm
- 55 to 64 kg => 175 cm
If you're between two sizes:
- For greater comfort =privilege the smaller size, the ski will be easier to handle.
- For more sporty practice = prefer the larger size. For a more sporty style = choose the larger size.
3 - Hook on ECAILLES, the assurance of not backing down!
The grip on a cross-country ski corresponds to the area in the center of the sole (underside of the ski).
It provides "grip" so you don't slip on ascents, while guaranteeing smooth gliding on the flat or downhill.
There are 3 systems: flakes, retaining wax or skins.
The 150 ski is equipped with a flake grip that provides excellent grip so you don't have trouble on ascents.
4 - BASIC auto bindings, simplicity at your fingertips!
All our skis are sold with Rottefella bindings compatible with NNN, Prolink and Turnamic standards.
The 150 skin skis are equipped with the Rottefella BASIC AUTO binding, perfect for beginner skiers.
It's easy to use thanks to its "step-in" function, which allows you to put on your skis automatically with a simple press of the forefoot and take them off by pressing the button on the front using the tip of your cross-country ski pole.
5 - Waxing, the secret of durability
When you buy your skis, we recommend that you prepare the base of your skis properly to achieve their optimum glide level. We recommend several consecutive waxings to "nourish" the base.
To maintain the performance of your skis, don't forget to wax them regularly!
To wax your skis, discover our tutorials on our You Tube channel Inovik or make an appointment in your workshop Decathlon.
LEXICLE = Building a ski
Our skis are designed using a "sandwich" process: superimposing different materials at the heart of the ski and across its entire width.
The final product is assembled with a press.
CORNER = core of the ski: wood (solid or with channels) or composite (honeycomb or Nomex®)
BOTTOM = part in contact with the snow, made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), sintered or extruded.
ACCROCHE = retaining zone located under the ski
EDGE LINES = width of a ski in tip, runner and heel.
