TECHNICAL INFORMATION

EXPERIENCE

Designed for skiers with racing in their blood, who are always on the lookout for the best performance on groomed runs, the S/RACE 8 ski from Salomon makes high-speed turns easy. Combining dynamism and stability, these skis offer greater control with less effort, so you can push your limits and progress with every turn.

Construction

The wood core and sandwich edges are designed to improve stability, ensure good ski/snow contact and enhance performance.

Fasteners

Binding from Salomon, model M 11 GW black
Din 3 to 11. Gripwalk standard, suitable for Alpine and GW standard boots
Accept ski boots with sole lengths from 257mm to 380mm.

Solidity

Heel and tip protection and full-length edge structuring ensure longevity even under intensive use.
The ski's coating is extremely durable, and has been extensively laboratory-tested to guarantee its longevity.

Preparation

Skis waxed and sharpened, ready to use. Edge sharpened to 89°.

Dimension lines

124/70/104
The sidecut corresponds to the width in mm of the tip, runner and tail.
The wider the tip, the easier the ski enters the turn.
The narrower the runner, the faster the transition from edge to edge.
The wider the runner, the more comfortable and stable the ski is in snow changes

Radius = 15 m in 177 cm

As for the curve radius, the smaller it is, the shorter the ski will turn (small turn)
The larger the curve radius, the larger the ski will turn in large turns.

What is a camber?

When a ski is placed on the ground, the points of contact between the ski and the snow are located near the tip and tail, while the center of the ski (under the bindings) rises slightly. This is camber. The longer and higher the camber, the more grippy and responsive the ski. The lower the camber, the more forgiving and maneuverable the ski.

What is a rocker?

On a rocker ski, the tip and sometimes the tail lift off the ground earlier than on a cambered ski, shifting the contact points towards the center of the ski. The ski's surface in contact with the snow is shortened, offering maneuverability and lift in soft snow. With the angled rocker, you gain edge length for more grip on hard snow. The longer the rocker, the more maneuverable your ski.
