Diameter and probe tip
The diameter of the cone-shaped tip is wider than that of the probe, making a larger hole, so the probe penetrates more easily into the snow accumulated by the avalanche
The probe consists of 6 strands with a diameter of 11mm.
Product improvement
In response to the reviews you have posted on our website, we have made a few modifications to our probe:
- Larger knots on the cord, so that they are large enough to be locked in the probe's throat.
- 1st knot shifted so that the cord is tauter and provides greater rigidity
- Addition of a synthetic handle sewn onto the cord to deploy the probe.
Depth marking
For effective probing, and to know the depth of the victim, the strands are marked every 10cm, with a more visible marking every 50cm.
Did you know?
It is advisable to keep your gloves on when probing to avoid contaminating the area with odors other than those of the victims.
The safety pack
The mountains are a magnificent adventure playground, but they need to be explored with great care:
The minimum pack to accompany you is an avalanche transceiver + probe + shovel, but just because you have all 3 products doesn't mean you feel absolutely protected.
The probe
It can be used to locate the victim and determine the depth of burial.
