Best used with an intermediate line, this streamer can come to life quickly but is most effective when pausing between long casts. The absence of weights gives it a very gliding action, often effective on predators.
Directions for use
The Texas hook is an excellent solution for fishing in crowded conditions, but just as when fishing with a soft lure on the same type of hook, a few adjustments need to be made. In a very crowded environment, prick the hook point through the fibers to make it cross at the back. In a moderately crowded environment, shift the streamer fibers to one side of the hook to facilitate striking.
Customization
By adding lead wire wraps on the hook shank you will not only have a streamer with a faster sink rate for use with a floating line, but also a swim with more pronounced "jerks".
