Carpet geometry: the right material in the right place.
Most commercially available mats are rectangular in shape, yet when lying down we don't have the shape of a rectangle. We therefore decided to add 2 wings on either side of the mat to accommodate the widest part of the body in the lying position: the elbows. This optimizes the dimensions of the mat.
On the front, there's a waterproof pocket to store your shooting tables and smartphone in case of light rain.
The right ratio of comfort to shooting stability
To guarantee comfort when lying on the mat without the instability of a mattress, we opted for 10mm thick PE foam with a density of 26kg/m3. This foam is present in the main part of the mat and on the 2 wings. At the bottom of the mat, in the calf area, we decided not to foam this part in order to gain in compactness (this part of the body is not generally stimulated in the prone shooting position).
A contemporary carpet
In 2021, the year the mat was designed, many shooters will have swapped their paper shooting tables for a digital version such as a smartphone application. In order to be able to use this technology in the rain, we opted for a transparent plastic pouch to protect the smartphone and allow the touchscreen to be used through the plastic pouch.
