TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Is a floor mat really necessary for yoga?

You've decided to take up yoga, and when it comes to equipping yourself, you think that your gym mat or camping mat might just do the trick. Not a good idea! To practice yoga, a mat must meet certain criteria of grip and thickness. This is necessary for comfortable practice and, above all, to avoid the risk of injury during dynamic sequences and balances.

Why a yoga mat that sticks?

"Trikonasane, plough pose, half-chandel... During your yoga sessions, you'll be doing a series of postures and balancing exercises. That's why it's crucial that your mat ensures your safety, so you don't injure yourself and can progress serenely without worrying about hurting yourself. And for that, it needs to be grippy.
Our yoga mats are covered on top with a polyurethane film that increases their grip. Your hands won't slip and you'll be able to go from one figure to the next.

Why is Mat Grip + 4mm the ideal thickness?

In yoga, the thickness of a mat counts for a lot. It needs to be thick and comfortable enough to protect your joints and back during posture sequences, and enable you to hold your balance. But for good stability and to feel your connection to the floor, it mustn't be too thick either. The recommended thickness for yoga mats is between 1.5 and 8 mm. At 4 mm , our yoga mat is right in the middle.

What types of yoga can be practised with the Mat Grip + 4mm mat?

With its 4 mm thickness, this yoga mat is ideal for dynamic yoga. Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Bikram are practices with sequences of postures performed rapidly and with high intensity. For dynamic yoga, we recommend using a mat up to 5 mm to guarantee good grip and stability, essential for maintaining balance.

Why are lines on a yoga mat such a good idea?

"Correct yoga practice requires deep concentration, proper breathing and, above all, rigorous precision in body alignment. Imprecise alignment can lead to pain or even injury.
To help beginners in particular to position their bodies correctly, we have equipped our yoga mats with alignment lines. "

Is the Mat Grip + 4mm easy to transport?

Once rolled up, the mat is easily transported using the carrying straps supplied.

What are the dimensions and weight of the Mat Grip + 4mm yoga mat?

The yoga mat measures 185 cm x 65 cm x 4 mm. It weighs 2.5kgs

How do I care for the Mat Grip + 4mm yoga mat?

"Over time, dust, creams, sweat and other residues damage the adhesive layer of polyurethane carpets. That's why it's vital to clean them regularly.
To do this, clean your carpet with warm, soapy water and a microfiber cloth. If the dirt is well embedded, you can leave it to soak for a few minutes. Then let it dry naturally before rolling it up again. Avoid exposure to sunlight."
