WATERPROOFING MEANS :

- A DEPERLANT TREATMENT
A fluorine-free chemical recipe placed on the surface of the fabric, which allows water to slide off the surface of the component. This treatment can be reactivated by the action of heat (use of tumble dryer - gentle program 10').
- A WATERPROOF ASSEMBLY
The aim is to prevent water penetrating through seam holes by using sealing strips placed under the seams.
- A WATERPROOF COMPONENT
A fabric's ability to prevent water penetration.

WATERPROOFING MEASUREMENT

Impermeability is measured in Schmerber or mmH2O (pressure exerted by a column of water).
A component with a value of 10,000 mm will withstand 10 meters of water.
The higher the number, the more impermeable the fabric.

NIGHT-TIME VISIBILITY

This PPE-certified parka to standard NF EN17353 enables cyclists to move around at night, thanks to the standard reflective bands encircling the arms and trunk.
The position of the visibility elements has been designed to take account of the cyclist's constraints (leaning forward, wearing a backpack, directional signalling with the arm, etc.), guaranteeing 360° visibility at a distance of 50 m at night in the presence of car headlights.

CUT ADAPTED TO THE CYCLIST

The 940 women's trench coat is designed to accompany the urban cyclist on her rainy-weather commute. Its slim-fitting cut allows for freedom of movement and coverage of the lower back, arms, neck and wrists when on the bike, providing protection from wind and rain. Zippered openings under the arms ensure good ventilation.
Helmets can be worn above or below the hood (except mountain bike helmets).

COMPONENT BREATHABILITY

Hydrophilic coating (RET=12): helps wick perspiration away from the garment. To determine whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its RET evaporative resistance (test based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the resistance, the more water vapor generated by the active body can escape, and therefore the more breathable the fabric.

STOCK TIPS

Store your parka on a hanger and avoid compacting it to preserve the quality of the reflective stripes.

Restrictions

Visibility is not guaranteed at night without a light source.

TESTS

We carry out 3 tests on our waterproof products:
- Waterproof component: We use the Japanese standard - JIS 1092.
- Water-repellent treatment: According to ISO 4920 before and after washing, to guarantee the resistance of the water-repellent treatment. The water repellency result is a rating between 0 and 5 (5 being the highest performance).
- Waterproof assembly: We have design rules that we test using a shower test that simulates rain of varying intensity.

Approved by

This parka is a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which increases the wearer's visibility.
It has been EC type-examined by a European notified body: SGS Fimko, no. 0598, Takomotie 8, 00380 Helsinki, Finland. The EC type-examination was carried out on the basis of the requirements of standard NF EN17353 for category 2 PPE.
