TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Who's the MID 9 scooter for?

All teenagers between 1.25 and 1.75 m tall, weighing up to 100 kg. So lots of people! The MID 9 scooter is height-adjustable and equipped for short trips around town (up to 2 kms).
For longer or more regular trips, you'll need to consider a scooter from the adult range: Town d'Oxelo.

Is the MID 9 scooter suitable for city use?

Yes, scooter riding is faster and more fun than walking. The MID 9 is equipped for comfortable travel: front and rear mudguards to protect against splashes in wet weather, handlebar brake, suspension and large wheels (175 mm) to get you over the city's little obstacles.

And if it rains, do the pants take it all?

The MID 9 scooter is fitted with front and rear mudguards to protect against splashes in wet weather.

What are the safety rules for scooters?

As a general rule, you should wear protective equipment (helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, handle guards) when using a scooter. Most serious accidents occur during the first few months of use: learn the basics of scooter use, so you can master speed and braking in all emergency situations and in all weather conditions (especially on wet ground, always use foot braking).

The scooter complies with the EN 14619 standard. What does this standard cover?

Standard EN 14619 defines safety requirements and test methods for roller sports equipment.

How to maintain your scooter

We advise you to check the condition of your scooter, its braking quality and the absence of any abnormal play, cracks or sharp edges, before and after each use.
Wheels and bearings are parts that wear out. Remember to check them too, and replace them if necessary.
Repairing and extending the life of your scooter is possible thanks to the spare parts tracked and ordered by the Workshop in your Décathlon store.

How are our products tested?

All our scooters are laboratory-tested. These tests validate not only European standards for scooter use, but also wear tests (for example, a machine will fold a scooter 10,000 times to check the folding system).
These lab tests are complemented by field tests, some measured, others based on the perceptions of testers, who then put the product through its paces. The result: a tried and tested product.
