More accessible brakes, better grip - these are the advantages of our "Stop Easy System". The brake lever is pressed parallel to the handlebars for a more natural movement. While remaining progressive, this innovative brake lever delivers 30% more braking power than a conventional lever. An innovation from our B'twin team, appreciated by children and parents alike.
Frame material and shape
Aluminum was the obvious choice for the frame of this model, which we wanted to be as light as possible. It weighs 960 g. Aluminum also gives it anti-corrosion properties: it won't rust, even when exposed to a demanding environment (humidity, sand).
Its shape is slightly shorter than on our other 16" models: while offering an upright position, the bike is a little more responsive. A good compromise between comfort and agility to support the progress of young cycling addicts.
Wheels/tyres
These tires are equipped with an inflatable inner tube. Their shape gives them good grip on everyday terrain (paths, lawns, etc.).
What kind of brakes?
Brake efficiently with two V-Brake brake pads.
These brakes consist of two calipers fitted with brake pads that apply varying degrees of pressure to the rim to slow or stop wheel rotation.
Is it possible to add small wheels?
Yes, if your child needs it. Our Btwin 16" stabilizers are compatible with all our bikes of this size. Practical, they attach and detach without tools.
And what about comfort?
We've taken children's morphology into account: the width of the handlebars and the diameter of the grips are sized for their little hands. The foam saddle guarantees a comfortable seat.
As your child grows, so does your bike!
The saddle is height-adjustable (using an Allen key 6) to accommodate your child's growth.
The saddle height can be adjusted between 47.8 and 60.6 cm.
Our bikes comply with the Vélo Enfant standard (ISO 8098), so we can't offer saddle adjustment with a tool-free system (quick release).
What's the point of a sump?
To prevent children from putting their fingers where they shouldn't, the mechanical components of the transmission (crank, chain, freewheel, etc.) are enclosed by the housing. It also prevents laces from getting caught and clothes from getting dirty. The decorations are inlaid into the plastic of the housing to make them more resistant.
What inspired this design?
For the Racing version, our designer has chosen a red that plunges us into the world of racing cars. The graphics leave much to the imagination. Representing the interior of an engine, it will awaken the sporting spirit in little riders! For the City model, he opted for a "chic" blue, awakened by a touch of "Molitor" yellow (like the swimming pool in Paris!). The graphics recall the codes of a famous scooter brand. A look that will appeal to young and old alike!
