E-EDR AF PROGRAM
The E-EDR AF is part of our endurance range. AF stands for aluminium frame. Our endurance range includes bikes for cyclists whose priority is riding pleasure.
With its aluminum frame and Mahle kit (3.5 kg), this electrically-assisted road bike is lightweight and comfortable.
To guarantee your safety, the entire range is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes and 32 mm wide tires.
WHAT IS VAE?
VAE stands for electrically assisted bicycle. The VAE is a sport bike, not a moped.
Thanks to variable assistance, you can expand or rediscover your playground and take on new challenges.
The VAE is the pleasure bike: the one that allows you to go up a hill with a significant effort, and still have the possibility of going up a second one!
The European standard limits the speed of VAEs to 25km/h. Beyond that, the assistance cuts out. Beyond that, the assistance cuts out.
WHAT ARE THE BIKE'S CAPACITIES?
The Mahle battery motor kit delivers a range of 250W/H. If you wish to improve your bike's autonomy significantly, you will need to add an external battery.
We have selected a panel of testers who have ridden for over 6 months in different conditions of altitude, temperature and also with different levels of assistance to give you a real-life account of this bike's capabilities.
The bike has 3 different levels of assistance.
EXAMPLES OF POSSIBLE ROUTES
- Marc: heavy tourer ( 8000 KM/AN )

ABOUT THE BATTERY
When the battery is drained below 7%, whatever your level of assistance, the assistance will drop to a very low level to allow you to return safely if necessary.
The battery is designed to last for 5 years / 500 charging cycles. After that, there will be a loss of autonomy.
The battery is not removable, and recharging is done directly by plugging the plug into the bike.
It takes between 4h00 and 5H00 for a full charge.
BC 900 METER
The BC 900 computer is supplied with the bike. Specially designed for optimal integration with the bike, it will be your companion for interacting with your bike.
This GPS meter will give you battery charge, remaining autonomy and your level of assistance.
You can connect the BC900 to the Decathlon Connect application for a detailed report of your rides.
CONNECTIVITY
The MAHLE X35 system has an Ant+ and Bluetooth connection for connecting your phone or your usual computer if you don't want to use the BC900.
The Mahle app will also enable you to fine-tune your settings and retrieve data on your outings.
FRAME AND FORK
The frame geometry is endurance-oriented. The pleasure of riding is at the heart of this bike's program.
The welds are polished at the most visible junctions for greater elegance.
The fork is 100% carbon for enhanced steering precision. It also features side eyelets for carrying up to 4kg on each clamp.
You can load up to 10kg on the luggage rack if you wish to install one.
Compatible with tires up to 700x35.

TRANSMISSION MAINTENANCE
We would like to draw your attention to the need for regular maintenance of your transmission, especially if you ride in difficult conditions (wet and/or dirty roads)
Regular maintenance will ensure that your transmission lasts longer.
Regular chain checks are essential with this tool:

TRANSMISSION LIFETIME
When buying a bike, it's important to take the cost of maintenance into account when choosing the drivetrain.
The values below are average values, given as an indication, and will vary greatly depending on maintenance.
The average life of a well-maintained chain is 5,000 km
The average life of a cassette is 10,000-12,0000 km
A poorly maintained chain can cause chain jumping and damage to the frame.
DISC BRAKES
Shimano 105 disc brakes with 160 mm discs front and rear.
Shimano 105 disc brakes are hydraulic, so braking is more progressive and powerful than with hydromechanical brakes.
A running-in period is required. Simply make a series of 20 progressive brake applications at low speed (20 km/h), and a second series at 30 km/h. Both brakes need to be run-in.
Running-in improves adhesion between pad and disc.
HYDRAULIC BRAKE MAINTENANCE
Hydraulic brakes operate via a closed circuit between your brake lever and your caliper.
The system is sealed by a hose.
Over time, a normal loss of pressure in your hoses will occur, resulting in a loss of braking efficiency. When your brake is too soft, or when you come to a stop on your handlebars, you need to bleed your system. This operation requires special tools and know-how.
WARNING AND ADJUSTMENT
ATTENTION: never brake without a wheel, as this can cause the brake pads to stick.
If your disc touches the caliper, proceed as follows to realign the wheel and caliper:
- Loosen the wheel axle
- Brake hard and retighten the wheel axle at the same time
- If the disc still touches the caliper, repeat the operation while loosening the caliper
- If the problem persists, go to the store.
