NEW EDR PROGRAM
The EDR range is Van Rysel's dedicated endurance segment.
Make no mistake, "endurance" does not mean "speed". That's the challenge our design team has taken up.
The EDR frame is the ideal answer for all competitors looking for a bike that's equally at home in the mountains or on mixed terrain.
The perfect combination of stiffness, lightness and comfort will shatter your old records beyond measure.
EDR FRAME AND FORK
Weighing in at 890 grams (gross in M size), the EDR frame and fork are a cocktail of high-modulus fibers offering excellent bike stiffness, perceptible in the slightest acceleration.
Fork weight:382g
The fiber orientation has been calculated to satisfy the most demanding climbers and racers on hilly and high-mountain courses. A requirement that perfectly matches that of the top level and the professional peloton.
Press-fit 86 bottom bracket and Di2-compatible frame.

DISC BRAKES R7170 (1)
Shimano BR-R7170 calipers feature the latest Shimano technology for smooth, powerful braking. This braking system allows cyclists to progress on their usual routes while benefiting from efficient braking.
Braking is easier to dose with a wider modulation range. The extra 10% pad spacing prevents friction, makes wheel removal easier and simplifies bleeding.
Front disc: 160mm
Rear disc: 140mm

TRANSMISSION MAINTENANCE
We would like to draw your attention to the need for regular maintenance of your transmission, especially if you ride in difficult conditions (wet and/or dirty roads)
Regular maintenance will ensure that your transmission lasts longer.
Regular chain checks are essential with this tool:

TRANSMISSION LIFETIME
When buying a bike, it's important to take the cost of maintenance into account when choosing the drivetrain.
The values below are average values, given as an indication, and will vary greatly depending on maintenance.
The average life of a well-maintained chain is 5,000 km
The average life of a cassette is 10,000-12,0000 km
A poorly maintained chain can cause chain jumping and damage to the frame.
BRAKE RUNNING-IN AND MAINTENANCE
A running-in period is necessary. Simply make a series of 20 progressive brake applications at low speed (20 km/h), and a second series at 30 km/h. Both brakes must be run-in. Both brakes need to be run-in.
Running-in improves adhesion between pad and disc.
BRAKE HONING AND MAINTENANCE (2)
Hydraulic brakes operate via a closed circuit between your brake lever and your caliper.
The system is sealed by a hose.
Over time, a normal loss of pressure in your hoses will occur, resulting in a loss of braking efficiency. When your brake is too soft, or when you come to a stop on your handlebars, you need to bleed your system. This operation requires special tools and know-how.
WARNING AND ADJUSTMENT
ATTENTION: never brake without a wheel, as this can cause the brake pads to stick.
If your disc touches the caliper, proceed as follows to realign the wheel and caliper:
- Loosen the wheel axle
- Brake hard and retighten the wheel axle at the same time
- If the disc still touches the caliper, repeat the operation while loosening the caliper
- If the problem persists, go to the store.
Warranty
5 years on frame and 2 years on spare parts
