TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Engine

Brose 36 volt Drive T Alu central motor, 250 watts. Belt drive for quieter motor operation.

Maximum motor torque of 70Nm. This value is used to assess the ease with which the bike will pass certain difficulties (e.g. a climb).

The motor is coupled to a torque sensor, among other things, to adjust electric assistance on the basis of pedaling motion and pedal pressure, like a car accelerator pedal.

Assistance control

An LED LCD control console on the left of the handlebars so you can hold on to your handlebars and choose between the 3 levels of assistance:
Mode Off - Disabled (the battery is not used).
Mode 1 - Economy: up to 80% assistance;
Mode 2 - Normal: up to 160% assistance;
Mode 3 - Sport: up to 320% assistance.
"Walk" mode: accompanies you when you walk alongside it (assistance up to 6 km/h).

Other screen features

An LED LCD control console on the left of the handlebars so you can hold on to your handlebars and choose between the 3 levels of assistance:
Mode Off - Disabled (the battery is not used).
Mode 1 - Economy: up to 80% assistance;
Mode 2 - Normal: up to 160% assistance;
Mode 3 - Sport: up to 320% assistance.
"Walk" mode: accompanies you when you walk alongside it (assistance up to 6 km/h).

Battery

Highly reliable LG/Samsung lithium-ion cells, 36V 11.6Ah, with a capacity of 417Wh.

Battery secured by key (two keys supplied with the bike). The battery is also removable for easy recharging (at the office, for example...).

N.B.: the battery must be locked when the bike is in use to keep it in its housing and prevent accidental disconnection.

Weight: 2.64Kg

Autonomy

The 417Wh battery's autonomy covers a minimum distance of 50km (mode 3 - HIGH) and up to 90km maximum (mode 1 - LOW).

Autonomies are indicative and are given for a person weighing 70kg on a relatively flat route.

NB: Autonomy is likely to vary according to the weight carried (user weight + pannier/basket weight), the gradient (climbs) and weather conditions (cold reduces battery autonomy).

Gearshift Shimano Nexus

This type of gearshift system is designed to allow you to change gears at a standstill, without pedaling. This makes restarting easier, especially when the bike is loaded.
This system is also insensitive to shocks, as it is completely integrated into the hub of the rear wheel, and requires very little maintenance.
It is operated very simply via a turning handle.
ATTENTION: this system requires you to stop pedaling (1 second) to change gear.

Frame

6061 aluminum frame for greater lightness and dynamism
Available as a low frame for easy striding, for both men and women, or as a high frame.

Frame weight:
Between 4.3 kg and 4.4 kg depending on size and frame type.

Powder-coated in white with matt finish.

Fork

ODESA leisure suspension fork in aluminum, 63 mm travel, to absorb road imperfections and enhance riding comfort.

Braking

Mechanical disc brakes (cable-actuated) at the front.

V-Brake rear brake with easily interchangeable rubber pads to avoid complete disassembly in case of wear, and positioned under the frame for improved aesthetics.

Aluminum brake levers.

Replacement brake pad reference: Auriga brake pads Tektro (part number: 8325111)

Handlebars/stem/steering

Dutch-style handlebars and plunge stem (diameter 25.4mm) in height-adjustable aluminum for a more upright and comfortable position.

Handles with lugs for attaching VIOO Clip lights for greater side visibility in use.

Saddle/saddle post

Aluminum seat post (diam.28.6mm)

Wide saddle with foam durometers adapted to the pressure points of the buttocks on the saddle. The saddle position can be optimized with the adjustable carriage.

Screw-locked saddle clamp (diam. 31.8mm) to prevent opportunistic theft of saddle and seatpost.

Visibility

Battery-powered AXA LED front and rear lighting, requiring the control screen to be switched on. Front lighting integrated into the frame and rear lighting integrated into the luggage rack to prevent breakage.

20 LUX lighting intensity. Allows you to see 150m to the rear and 30m to the front.

Rear reflector integrated into luggage rack.

KMC Z1 RB chain with anti-corrosion treatment, 108 links.

Resin city pedals, lighter than aluminum.

Wheels

28" (700) front and rear reinforced double-wall aluminum wheels, 36 spokes.

Why this choice of wheel size?
So that our users can benefit from the best comfort and ride quality provided by this wheel size. The front and rear wheels are bolt-tightened to deter opportunistic theft. Tightening and loosening with a 15mm open-end wrench.

Side stand screwed to the frame, specifically selected to support the weight of an EAB and thus provide greater stability when parking the bike.

Not designed to support the weight of a baby seat and baby when stationary.

Accessories compatibility

The 27 kg luggage rack can accommodate a baby seat on a carrier or all our ELOPS luggage.

The frame is equipped with frame inserts. On the seat tube, for attaching a segment lock and a fixed RINGLOCK-type frame lock/rear-wheel frame lock for locking the rear wheel of the frame when parked.

How does a VAE work?

A VAE (Vélo à Assistance Electrique - electrically assisted bicycle) helps you pedal, reducing fatigue and perspiration. In order for the motor to accompany you, it is essential to pedal.
The motor will accompany you at a maximum speed of 25km/h and stops as soon as you stop pedaling.
If you do not wish to benefit from the assistance, the assistance can be switched off at any time to pedal as you would on a conventional bicycle.
Your VAE has been tested to ride in the rain.

What size bike should I choose?

2 sizes available, 2 frame shapes, high or low.
Size S/M: from 1m55 to 1m75
Size L/XL: from 1m75 to 1m95
If you are between two sizes, the larger size will offer a more comfortable high position.

Weight

(incl. pedals and battery):
in size M: 25.2kg
in size L:26kg

Maximum operating weight

This electrically-assisted bicycle (EAB) has been validated to EN 15194 for a maximum weight of 150 kg (bicycle weight + user weight + transported load).

How do I recharge a VAE?

The removable battery, secured with a key, can be recharged from a mains socket either on the bike or by removing it from the bike. A charger is supplied on the bike for this purpose.

A full charge when completely discharged takes 5 hours.

Maintenance/storage

A Lithium-Ion battery should ideally be charged regularly, without waiting until it is completely discharged.

A battery that is not used for a long time should ideally be stored in "deep standby" mode, charged to 80%. Otherwise, a charge every 3 months maximum is recommended.

The battery should ideally be stored in a dry, temperate place (25°C) for optimum operation and storage.

Battery transport/recycling

In France, end-of-life batteries can be dropped off at your local Decathlon workshop for recycling by an approved organization as part of our eco-responsible policy. The procedure and the recycling organization are specific to each country.

Lithium-Ion batteries are subject to special transport regulations (boat, airplane).
A document called MSDS, specific to your battery, is available on request from our cycle teams Decathlon.

Parts availability

10-year availability of electrical parts (motor, battery, electrical components) or backwards-compatibility guarantee in the event of modification.

Maintenance tips

1) Before carrying out any work on your VAE (electrical or mechanical maintenance), you must switch off your VAE and remove the battery.
2) Occasional maintenance of the transmission (chain must be cleaned and lubricated)
3)Do not use a high-pressure cleaner.

Storage tips

It is advisable to store the bike in a place protected from the outside or covered with a tarpaulin.

It is also advisable to remove the battery from the bike and store it in a cool place when not in use for long periods, as specified in the user manual.

Restrictions

As the marine or damp environment (air, sea spray) is extremely corrosive to mechanical and metal parts, we strongly recommend regular lubrication of the entire bike's drivetrain, and the occasional wiping with a damp cloth to remove any salt deposits or traces of moisture that may have settled there.

This bike cannot be used with a trailer.

Designed in Lille by a team of engineers and designers.
Assembled in Portugal.
