How will this jacket keep my child warm?
We are carrying out a comparative study in a thermal laboratory under walking conditions with a light wind (5km/h).
The comfort temperature is the air temperature calculated so that 70% of users have a "slightly warm" thermal sensation.
For this jacket, it is -0.5°C.
However, each individual has his or her own sensitivity to cold.
WATERPROOF JACKET
The waterproofness of a jacket is not limited to that of its components: the technique used to assemble the various parts is also an assessment criterion.
Whether thermally bonded or sewn and then waterproofed, the overall waterproofness of your jacket is measured using a shower test developed by Decathlon, which simulates rainfall of different intensities.
So this waterproof jacket protects you from a downpour, i.e. 6 cm of rain in 1 hour.
How does my jacket protect me from the elements?
The waterproofness of a fabric, ensured by a coating or membrane, is measured in Schmerber or mm H²0 (pressure exerted by a column of water). The higher the number, the more waterproof the fabric.
This jacket features a waterproof component (JIS 1092 standard) resistant to 5,000 mm H²0 (Schmerber) before washing. In winter, to stay warm, you also need to protect your extremities (head, hands, feet).
What does "Sealed main seams" mean?
The seams of a jacket can be taped to prevent water from seeping through.
Here, the main seams are taped, corresponding to the seams of the hood, collar, shoulders, armholes and chest.
Children easily soil their belongings. Can I wash this jacket regularly without damaging it?
To ensure the durability of our products, we carry out tests on selected components: resistance to rubbing and abrasion, colorfastness, resistance to repeated washing.
How do you preserve the technical qualities of this jacket?
Care products: machine waterproofing spray or liquid. To regenerate the fabric's water repellency and optimize your garment's performance throughout its life, we recommend using these products at least every time you wash.
How should I dress my child for snowboarding?
To dress properly in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend applying the 3-layer principle:
layer 1: technical undergarments allow moisture transfer to keep the skin dry.
layer 2: the second layer (fleece, sweater) provides warmth and moisture transfer.
layer 3: the jacket protects against external conditions: rain, snow, wind.
The whole garment must be breathable to evacuate moisture.
