Thermal comfort and windproofing
Wind considerably increases the sensation of cold. For example, at an outside temperature of 0°C, a 20 km/h wind will cause the perceived temperature to drop to -10°C. Windproof components eliminate the discomfort associated with this cooling effect. By forming a barrier against the wind, they effectively reduce heat loss.

Component water repellency (not to be confused with waterproofing)
A fabric's water repellency is its ability to let water slide off its surface, without absorbing it. As a result, your jacket won't become waterlogged, and remains light and breathable. Water repellency is achieved by a treatment applied to the outer face of the fabric, but in use it can be altered. You can find out how to reactivate the water repellency of your softshell in our article "Maintaining, washing and repairing a waterproof or water-repellent garment" available on the Forclaz website.
Recommended complementary product
To reactivate water repellency, you can use the textile repermabilizing liquid available in stores or on the website under reference 8554908,
. It regenerates the fabric's water repellency and optimizes the performance of your garment throughout its lifetime.
