Sophie, our product manager, presents the RW golf jacket:
"When you play golf for 4 hours in the rain, you're competing. We wanted an outfit that would allow you to play while forgetting about the rain. With the Rain Weather outfit, we're targeting all golfers, offering them the demanding level of the expert golfer. It's all down to the work of our designers.
It's a beautiful, streamlined, elegant jacket. It's more than just waterproof protection. I'm really proud of it.
Our design team reveals the secrets of a waterproof jacket:
"To design this jacket, we worked with the rain specialists at Decathlon, who brought us their expertise." Sophie, product manager.
The result is a waterproof, wicking jacket that lets you play in the rain for up to 4 hours without getting wet, thanks to its 3-layer fabric and waterproof seams and zips.
As for its streamlined design, it also protects you from the rain: "The less assembly, the more waterproof the outfit." Ludivine, Methods Engineer.
We present an outfit designed for rain... and for your comfort.
- Thanks to the higher collar at the back, protected by the zip, you won't be embarrassed when you bend your head.
- The length of the jacket means you retain full freedom of movement.
- The naturally angled sleeves and the elasticated hem with tab fastening mean you won't feel your jacket when you're at address.
- The inner fabric of the jacket won't stick to your clothes, for greater comfort and freedom.
A field-tested jacket
"After researching waterproofing and the needs of golfers, our design team tested the RW outfit in real-life conditions:
"We carried out in-use tests on a weekend in December when it was extremely cold and rainy, with a dozen or so experts. And during photo shoots, conditions were even worse. It was in these extreme conditions that we validated this waterproof jacket" Sophie and Ludivine."
Waterproofing and breathability from a technical standpoint
Waterproofing is measured by the Schmerber water column test. Our material passes the 5000mm mark
The component's breathability is measured by the evaporative resistance coefficient, also known as RET. This is less than 12 for our material, which corresponds to a highly breathable fabric suitable for moderate exertion.
