3D hood
Wed'ze has integrated a triple-tightening hood into this ski jacket, designed to follow the movements of your head without getting in the way, for better protection against bad weather. It is helmet compatible.
The hood is pre-shaped with a high collar to protect your face in extreme cold or windy conditions. The zipper flap is microperforated to facilitate breathing while protecting the face.
Sleeves
Extra-wide, adjustable sleeves to go over gloves to protect you from the snow, keeping you dry and warm in the event of snowfall or a fall through the snow. Elastane sleeves with glued push-through for a slimmer fit and a hermetic seal at the glove/jacket junction.
Pockets
1 waterproof, insulated phone pocket (right chest) with headphone/microphone output for riding to music or staying in touch.
2 hand pockets with waterproof zips.
1 inside mesh pocket with zip.
1 pocket on left shoulder for travel pass
All pockets are equipped with waterproof zips.
How do you stay warm and dry?
To stay warm and dry, apply the 3-layer rule: 1 ski undergarment and 1 jacket to keep you warm, 1 ski jacket to protect you from the elements.
The first layer:
This keeps you dry by transferring perspiration from your skin to the other layers.
The second layer: to keep you warm, you need a second layer to insulate you from the cold.
How do you prevent snow from falling in?
The snow skirt is a waist protection system that snaps onto the bottom of the ski or snowboard jacket. It prevents snow and air from entering during practice, particularly in the event of a fall. It can be fastened to pants by means of 3 press-stud loops.
How can I be sure that my jacket is strong enough?
We know how much energy is expended during a day's skiing or snowboarding. That's why we take particular care in selecting all the components that make up our products, to guarantee the best possible resistance.
How can I insulate my extremities?
The sleeve ends are finished with Velcro fasteners that can be adjusted on or under the gloves, for improved airtightness and to prevent snow from entering in the event of a fall, or uncomfortable cool air from entering. What's more, because cold is a source of irritation, Wedze has integrated a soft fleece chin guard to protect your face and prevent irritation of the neck and chin.
Waterproofing / Shower test
Component waterproof to 15,000 Schmerber.
100% of seams sealed.
This garment has been validated in a shower test under 450 l of water / m² / hour for 4 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a tropical typhoon.
Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have taped seams?
In addition to the waterproof fabric, we reinforce the waterproofness of the FREERIDE 900 jacket with waterproof seams. These are waterproof adhesive strips applied to all the seams inside the garment to make it perfectly waterproof.
What is the purpose of water-repellency on my jacket?
A fabric's water repellency is its ability to let water slide off its surface without absorbing it. This means the fabric doesn't become waterlogged, remaining light, breathable and warm. Water repellency is achieved by a treatment applied to the outer face of the fabric. This treatment needs to be reactivated during the life of the garment, when you wash it several times.
All Wedze jackets benefit from a water-repellent treatment.
Washing your waterproof garment tutorial
We recommend that you follow this protocol every time you wash your garment, to ensure that it retains all its technical characteristics.

After three washes, we recommend that you reactivate the water-repellency by spray or impregnation treatment.
What is a membraned or coated component?
Coating is like a paint applied to the inside of the fabric, making the component waterproof yet breathable. It is often less expensive than a membrane, and requires a lining to protect it. The membrane is a kind of very thin plastic film (polyurethane) that makes the component waterproof yet breathable. It has the advantage of being more flexible, lighter, more durable and often more breathable than coating.
What does a "breathable" jacket mean?
This is the ability of a ski jacket to allow the water vapor produced by the body during exercise to escape to the outside, keeping you dry. To determine whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance, known as RET (ISO 11092 standardized test). The lower the RET value, the more breathable the fabric. Wedze uses components and technical solutions (zips, vents, mesh) that limit condensation inside the garment.
What is the RECCO® System?
100% of our Freeride jackets and pants are equipped with the RECCO® system.
With RECCO® technology you can be located in the event of an avalanche accident. Equipped with RECCO® reflectors, a buried person can be located quickly and accurately by organized rescue teams using the RECCO® detector. RECCO® reflectors do not replace the use of a avalanche beacon. While complementary in function, RECCO® technology increases the chances of being found in time.
