A clever top of the range
This 900 men's ski jacket is designed for all skiers.
Thanks to its many features:
- No more cream-stained collars, thanks to the removable, washable collar. Its presence (or absence) will also enable you to adjust the width of the collar, to suit every morphology.
- On the sleeves, an integrated sleeve protects you from air ingress, and a two-way zip enables you to access your watch in a single movement, or to ventilate your jacket.
A single component:
The jacket's components are lightweight, elastic and super-waterproof.
This means it will fit you perfectly: elegant and close-fitting.
A hood that fits over the helmet, but not only!
A hood that's big enough to fit over a helmet, but doesn't look hideous when worn with a beanie? It's possible, thanks to the simple snap system on the back of the hood and the tighteners on the front.
And if you're not into hoods, you can simply remove it thanks to the snap system.
Technical lining
The inside of the product is magnified by the ultrasonic bonding process between the wadding and the lining. The result: a seamless, harmonious and fine visual effect.
This jacket is not the warmest in our range, but the most technical. Warmth is a matter of individual choice, depending on physiology.
How should you dress to stay warm on the slopes?
To stay warm and dry, apply the 3-layer rule: Layer 1 or second skin, to stay dry. Layer 2, or insulating layer, to retain heat. Layer 3, or protective layer, to keep out the elements.
How is comfort temperature measured?
We test each of our products in the laboratory to give you an indicative comfort value. This is measured without tights for pants, and with a thermal T-shirt and fleece for jackets. The measurement indicated is that of the outside temperature at which the testers felt neither hot nor cold. This feeling differs, of course, according to the intensity of the activity, but also according to each individual's metabolism.
How is fabric waterproofness measured?
A fabric's resistance to water pressure is measured in mm water column (test based on ISO 811). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. The fabric of the 900 men's jacket, with a waterproof rating of 20000mm, is therefore resistant to the pressure exerted by 20000mm of water.
For skiing, we recommend fabrics ranging from 3000mm to 20000mm.
How is waterproofness measured?
To go beyond a simple component waterproofing value, we at Decathlon, test all our waterproof products in the laboratory. How is this test carried out? We have an articulated dummy on which we put the jacket, and which then spends a few hours under a shower.
With this test, we can affirm that the jacket protects the wearer from a storm, i.e. 24cm of water in 4 hours.
