A WAXED component to stand out from the crowd
The jacket's main component is one we call WAXÉ. This component, like a pair of jeans, marks itself over time according to your use. Your jacket will thus represent your style and be different from all other riders. The new component may also have a tint and wear that differs from the photos shown.
A versatile and clever product.
This jacket was designed and co-created by and for passionate snowboarders. In addition to the lines and backpack components designed to make the product more resistant, we have devised an automatic sleeve adjustment system for your mittens or gloves. No need to spend time tightening your sleeves, no more fresh snow preventing the velcro from closing. Last but not least, the inside of the jacket is made of breathable, highly comfortable 3D mesh.
Am I sure my jacket will protect me from the elements?
To enable you to cope with the elements (rain, snow, wind, etc.), the jacket has been developed with a component and assembly that blocks the passage of water and limits the sensation of wind. To validate waterproofing, this product was placed under a specially designed shower, reproducing the conditions encountered by a snowboarder in the field. Finally, we carried out several days of snowboarding in all conditions to validate the product's waterproofness.
Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have taped seams?
In addition to the waterproof fabric, we reinforce the waterproofness of the overalls with waterproof seams. These are waterproof adhesive strips affixed to the seams inside the garment to make it perfectly watertight. These waterproof seams are present throughout the product.
Why is my jacket water-repellent?
The water repellency of a fabric is its ability to let water slide off its surface without absorbing it, thanks to a treatment applied to the outer face of the fabric. The fabric does not absorb water, and remains light and warm. This treatment must be renewed during the life of the product, after an average of 2 to 3 washes, using products available in our stores. All the waterproof jackets we offer snowboarders are water-repellent.
What is a membrane and what is it used for?
A membrane is a very thin component (between 5 and 25 micrometers) applied to the inner surface of a textile backing to give it high levels of waterproofing and breathability. Our membrane components don't allow water to pass through them, while letting out the water vapor generated by your body during snowboarding.
How does my jacket keep me warm?
To keep you warm, we use feather-like wadding insulation. Wadding is a synthetic polyester-based component that stores more or less air, depending on the size of the fibers. There are standard, technical and siliconized wadding products with different properties (warmth, lightness, elasticity...).
How should I dress to keep warm in the mountains?
To stay warm and dry, we recommend the 3-layer rule. The principle is simple: superimpose 3 textile layers, each with a specific function. Your underwear must produce and retain heat. Your hoodie or sweatshirt provides warmth, while your jacket protects you from the elements. All these layers must be breathable to wick away moisture.
How can I prevent snow from getting into my jacket?
Our jackets feature elasticated snow skirts that adjust to the waist. In the event of a fall or fresh snow, the hermeticity prevents snow from entering.
How do I care for my product?
To optimize the performance and durability of your product, we recommend : Machine wash separately at 30°. Synthetic program. Turn product inside out. Use little washing powder. Do not use fabric softener. Manual spinning recommended. Hang to dry in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator. Outer fabric can be waterproofed with a textile waterproofing spray. Read care label.
Why are the waterproof values on the Internet and those printed on the jacket different?
We have designed our jacket with a membrane that guarantees 20,000% waterproofing at the time of purchase mm. After each wash, any membrane loses its effectiveness, so we also test the product to guarantee optimum waterproofing even after 5 washes. It's this value after 5 washes that's printed on the jacket, so that the information will be true even years from now when you resell your product.
