TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Co-developed with Yannick Bestaven (winner of the 2020 Vendée Globe) to withstand a demanding round-the-world race

The Tribord Offshore PRO range has been developed and tested with Yannick Bestaven and other partner skippers. It meets their requirements during all their races, inshore and offshore, transatlantic, solo or crewed, and on different boats: Yannick BESTAVEN (IMOCA), Quentin VLAMYNCK (Ocean 50 and Figaro 3), Achille NEBOUT, les VOILEUSES AU LARGE, Keni PIPEROL (Class 40), Romain LE GALL (Figaro 3), and Léo BOTHOREL (Mini 6.50).

How to wear this merino wool-lined jacket?

It's designed to slip under a shift jacket/warmer thanks to its slim, flexible components.
It has a close-fitting cut, with adjustments at the bottom of the jacket and at the handles.

Wear with merino-lined overalls, code 8785606.

Always at the right temperature

For sailing, our challenge is to design products that allow you to stay at the right temperature at all times, alternating between very active phases (heat production) and static phases when exposed to the wind (heat loss).
This Offshore Pro Series jacket:
1- insulates from the cold,
2- allows perspiration to evaporate and limits odors
3- is windproof and water-repellent.

Cold insulation

Following a thermal study of the human body, we have identified the areas of perspiration and heat loss during active and passive phases.
We have selected the appropriate components:
- merino merino wool (250 gr/m2) for its insulating properties, even when wet.
- fleece to complement wool in certain areas
- breathable mesh to wick away perspiration.
These 3 options vary depending on the area
Double fleece is used in the collar and pockets.

Sweat evacuation and odor control

The full-zip is designed to evacuate perspiration during active phases (winching, sail handling, matossage...).
Merino wool also has the property of limiting odors (ISO 17299-3 laboratory test). On long voyages, this is a real plus.

Windproof and water-repellent

The outer fabric provides effective protection from the wind, a recurrent cause of cold. The bottom of the jacket can be tightened to fit your body. This adjustment is accessible inside the pocket.
The fabric is water-repellent, so the jacket is not waterproof.

How to choose your jacket size?

The jacket has a fitted waist. It has been designed to be worn with thermal underwear.
For men, if you want a fitted size, choose your usual size. If you prefer a loose fit, choose a larger size.
For women, we advise you to choose a size smaller than your usual size.

The Velcro fastening at the end of the sleeve ensures a snug fit.
Weighs 625 grams in size L.
