Am I sure my jacket is warm enough for winter hiking?
We've developed your jacket for winter conditions: cold, rain and snow. Insulation is provided by 150 g/m² wadding on the body and 100 g/m² on the arms, combined with a fleece backing (a synthetic component that insulates thanks to the air it stores in its fibers)
We've added an inner flap under the zipper to block the passage of cold air. Tanka tightening at the bottom of the jacket completes the system, guaranteeing a comfortable jacket down to -10°C.
How does my jacket protect me from the elements?
Your jacket has been designed with a waterproof outer component that blocks the passage of water and wind. To stay warm in winter, you also need to protect your extremities (head, hands, feet). The warm hood, Velcro cuffs and high collar keep the cold out. Two warm, soft fleece pockets protect your hands from the cold.
WATERPROOF JACKET
The waterproofness of a jacket is not limited to that of its components: the technique used to assemble the various parts is also an assessment criterion.
Whether thermally bonded or sewn and then waterproofed, the overall waterproofness of your jacket is measured using a shower test developed by Decathlon, which simulates rainfall of different intensities.
So this waterproof jacket protects you from a downpour, i.e. 12 cm of rain in 2 hours.
WATERPROOF JACKET COMPONENTS
The waterproofness of a fabric, ensured by a coating or membrane, is measured in Schmerber or mm H²0 (pressure exerted by a column of water). The higher the number, the more waterproof the fabric. The higher the number, the more waterproof the fabric.
This jacket features a waterproof coating component (JIS 1092 standard) resistant to 5,000 mm H²0 (Schmerber) before washing.
Water often seeps through the seams. Does my jacket have taped seams?
Your jacket is waterproof thanks to 100% taped seams. Waterproof adhesive strips on the inside of the garment make the seams watertight, limiting the entry of water in these sensitive areas.
We validated the waterproofness with a shower test specially designed to reproduce the conditions of a 2-hour downpour. We've also worn it in the field in all conditions to make sure it's right for you.

Two lined pockets under flaps with snap closure on the outside, plus a secure pocket with Velcro closure on the inside.

How can I preserve the technical qualities of my jacket?
A fabric's water repellency is its ability to let water slide off its surface without absorbing it. This means the fabric doesn't become waterlogged, and remains light, breathable and warm. Water repellency is achieved by a treatment applied to the outer face of the fabric. This treatment needs to be renewed over the life of the garment (we recommend every wash). Products (spray or liquid) are available for this purpose in our stores.

How should I dress for snow hiking?
To dress properly in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend applying the 3-layer principle:
layer 1: technical undergarments allow moisture transfer to keep the skin dry.
layer 2: the second layer (fleece, sweater) provides warmth and moisture transfer.
layer 3: the jacket protects against external conditions: rain, snow, wind.
The whole garment must be breathable to wick away moisture.
How does my product warranty work?
This product is guaranteed for 2 years from the date of sale indicated on the sales receipt. The product covered by the warranty will be exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers defects in your product, excluding those resulting from normal wear and tear and those resulting from abnormal use.
