Product waterproofing
The jacket's waterproof qualities were tested under rainfall of 100 liters of water / m² / hour for 3 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a heavy mountain thunderstorm.
Waterproof fabric
A fabric's resistance to water pressure is measured in mm water column (test based on ISO 811). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a waterproof rating of 2,000 mm will therefore withstand the pressure exerted by 2,000 mm of water (roughly equivalent to a 2-hour shower).
With a waterproof rating of over 10,000 mm, the Alpinism Light jacket offers a very high level of waterproofing.
Breathable fabric
Pour savoir si un tissu est respirant, on mesure sa résistance évaporative RET (test basé sur la norme ISO 11092). Plus la résistance est faible, plus le tissu laisse s’échapper la vapeur d'eau générée par le corps en activité, donc plus le tissu est respirant.
On considère que pour :
- RET < 9 = le tissu est très respirant
- 9 < RET < 12 = le tissu est respirant
- RET > 12 = le tissu est peu ou pas respirant
Le tissu de la veste Alpinism Light a une RET de 8.
Hood
The volume of the jacket's hood makes it compatible with the wearing of a mountaineering helmet.
Height and depth adjustments enable this volume to be adjusted to suit requirements.
A semi-rigid visor enhances forehead and eye protection. The collar rises high to protect the lower face.
Pockets and zips
Exterior: 2 large pockets with waterproof zips. The pockets are positioned on the chest for easy access when wearing a harness.
Inside: 1 zipped pocket
Main zip with double slider for bottom opening and quick access to the harness bridle. Pull tabs for easy handling with gloves.
Maintenance tips
Wash at 30°C. Use washing powder and do not use fabric softener. Close zips and cuff adjustments before washing. Regenerate water repellency with an appropriate treatment each time you wash.
