Waterproof fabric
The resistance of a fabric to water pressure is measured in mm water column (test based on ISO 811). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a waterproof rating of 2,000 mm will therefore withstand the pressure exerted by 2,000 mm of water (roughly equivalent to a 2-hour shower).
With a waterproof rating of over 30,000 mm, the Alpinism jacket offers an extremely high level of waterproofing.
Garment waterproofing
The ALPINISM EVO jacket has been validated in a shower test under 100 liters of water / m² / hour for 3 hours.
This test reproduces the conditions of a heavy mountain storm.
Breathable fabric
Garment breathability
The watertight zipper under the arms, when open, creates an air flow for improved ventilation.
Adjustable hem (elasticated drawcord and tanka) and sleeve cuffs (hook-and-loop fastener) let you modulate air intake in these areas.
Bottom adjustment system :
This jacket features a double-adjustable drawcord at the bottom for excellent protection.
Adjustment is made inside the hand pockets. This ensures that excess drawcord does not protrude from the jacket and interfere with your gear when wearing a harness.
Pockets
The two top pockets have been positioned so that they can be easily used when wearing a harness. Two hand pockets complete your storage options. The ALPINISM jacket also features an inside zipped pocket and two inside mesh pockets to keep items such as gloves warm and protected.
Zips
The ALPINISM EVO jacket's main zipper is a new-generation double zipper that offers the same waterproofing as conventional silicone zippers (similar to those used for pockets), yet is more flexible, improving the jacket's compressibility when stowed. What's more, this zipper is easier to handle, contributing to greater durability. The two-way zipper allows the use of a harness under the jacket. The zipper pulls make it easy to handle with gloves.
Hood
The volume of the ALPINISM EVO jacket's hood makes it compatible with a mountaineering helmet. Height and depth adjustments let you adjust the volume to suit your needs. A semi-rigid visor enhances forehead and eye protection. The collar rises high to protect the lower part of the face.
