TECHNICAL INFORMATION

How is the waterproofness of the NH100 rain jacket component measured?

We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure expressed in mm water column (test based on JIS 1092 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. This waterproof jacket withstands the pressure exerted by 5,000 mm of water (roughly equivalent to an hour's downpour).
To validate this, the NH100 waterproof rain jacket was placed under a shower for 1 hour, discharging 60 l of water/m²/hr. This test reproduces average rainfall conditions in the mountains.
