COMPONENT IMPERMEABILITY
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure expressed in mm water column (test based on JIS 1092 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. This garment has been validated in a shower test under 60 l of water / m² / hour for 1 hour. This test reproduces the average conditions of a mountain shower.
A component with a waterproof rating of 5,000 mm can withstand the pressure exerted by 5,000 mm of water (roughly equivalent to a 1-hour shower).
COMPONENT BREATHABILITY
The breathability of a component is measured by its "Thermal Evaporative Resistance" (TER).
This is its capacity to let the water vapor produced by the body during effort escape to the outside, thus avoiding the accumulation of water on the skin.
The lower the TER value, the more breathable the fabric.
RET ≤ 6: highly breathable fabric
RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric
RET ≤ 20: fabric with low breathability
COMPONENT RESISTANCE
Abrasion and rub resistance tests: for example, we use laboratory tests to ensure that fleeces do not pilling. Colorfastness test: dye fastness is checked to ensure that no bleeding is possible on contact with saliva. Aging test: repeated washing must not alter fabric properties, behavior, thickness or appearance.
PRODUCT DESIGN: OUR EXPERTISE
Our worldwide design center Quechua is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute Savoie.
This location makes it a real meeting place for our teams (designers, product managers, engineers...) and outdoor sports enthusiasts.
A great asset for designing your mountain hiking products, and for providing you with all our expertise.
MAINTENANCE
1/ Machine wash (30 to 40°C): hook-and-loop fasteners and zips closed, mild detergent. Jackets and pants inside out. Remember to loosen straps and elastic parts.
2/ Avoid folding garments too much in the machine: risk of damage.
3/ Don't mix garment styles or colors.
4/ Don't use bleach or fabric softener.
5/ Select a thorough rinse and gentle spin.
6/ Tumble dry or line dry (minimum temperature & time).
WHERE DO OUR JACKETS COME FROM?
Created in our international design center at the foot of Mont Blanc in France, the jacket is then made by our suppliers in Vietnam and Bangladesh.
These are partners with real know-how in the manufacture of our jackets, with whom we work closely.
This relationship of trust with our industrial partners enables us to create high-quality technical products.
