Cut
This jacket has a slim fit. Its stretch fabric gives you more freedom of movement during your hike. A warm layer, such as a fleece or light down jacket, can be worn underneath.
You can choose your usual size, or a size up if you don't want to wear it slim-fitting.
Quick-adjust 3D hood
One adjustment, one gesture to adjust the hood! 3-point adjustment system (height, depth and volume) thanks to a single elastic drawcord with tightening.
Deep, enveloping hood for excellent comfort.
Visor for maximum facial protection.
Jacket construction / 3 layers
This jacket is built with 3 layers, the best protection available on the market: the membrane is bonded between the inner and outer layers of the component (hence the name 3-layer component).
The membrane is a kind of very thin polyurethane film, which makes the component waterproof yet breathable.
It is protected by a knitted fabric, and has the advantage of being more flexible, lighter, more resistant and often more breathable than a simple coating.
How do I care for my jacket?
This jacket has sealed bands (to guarantee perfect waterproofing) which are sensitive to machine washing and may come unstuck over time. We therefore recommend that you use a sponge and water to clean any marks on your jacket, and that you only wash it very rarely in the washing machine at 30°C, if you want it to last as long as possible on your hikes.
Waterproof test
Impermeability is measured by a fabric's resistance to water pressure expressed in mm water column (JIS 1092 standard).
The higher the pressure, the more impermeable the fabric.
The component in this product has an impermeability of 25,000 mm and therefore resists the pressure exerted by 25,000 mm water column.
This is also equivalent to 25,000 Schmerbers.
Breathability test
The breathability of a component is measured by its "Thermal Evaporative Resistance" (RET).
This is its capacity to let water vapor produced by the body during exertion escape to the outside, thus preventing the accumulation of water on the skin.
The lower the RET value, the more breathable the fabric.
RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabric
RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric
RET ≤ 20: not very breathable fabric
Our product has a RET of 6.
Product design: our expertise
Our worldwide design center Quechua is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute-Savoie.
This location makes it a real meeting place for our teams (designers, product managers, engineers...) and outdoor sports enthusiasts.
A great asset for designing your mountain hiking products, and for providing you with all our expertise.
How do you reactivate the water-repellency of your jacket?
A fabric's water repellency is its ability to let water slide off its surface, without absorbing it. As a result, your jacket won't become waterlogged, and remains light and breathable. Water repellency is achieved by a treatment applied to the outer face of the fabric, but in use these properties can be altered.
All the steps to reactivate water repellency are described below:
