TECHNICAL INFORMATION

POLAR COMPONENT: AIR INSULATION

The purpose of the fleece component is to trap air thanks to the volume created by its texture (and the scraping of the mesh).
This air keeps the body warm thanks to its insulating power.

COMPONENT RESISTANCE

We carry out a number of laboratory tests to guarantee optimum resistance: an abrasion and rub resistance test to ensure that fleeces do not pilling, a colorfastness test to check colorfastness and resistance, and an ageing test to certify that repeated washing does not alter the fabric's properties, behavior, thickness or appearance.

Our worldwide design center Quechua is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute Savoie. This location makes it a real meeting place for our teams (designers, product managers, engineers...) and outdoor sports enthusiasts. TESTS

We carry out 2 types of thermal test:
- either a test of our fleece material.
- or on a thermal mannequin in a thermal chamber. Here, we reproduce the temperature, wind (5km/h) and humidity conditions you'd encounter in the mountains on a 5km/h walk.
These tests validate our design choices. And we adapt the thermal insulation where you need it most.
