CUT
This fleece jacket has a slim fit, without being too close to the body. We advise you to wear a technical undergarment just underneath, in direct contact with the skin, to be better protected from the cold. It has also been designed to be worn just below our windproof/waterproof jackets, such as the MH100 women's jacket.
You can choose your usual size.
HOW DOES MATERIAL INSULATE AGAINST THE COLD?
The purpose of the fleece component is to trap air thanks to the volume created by its texture (called "scraped fleece" when it's made up of loops); this air keeps the body warm thanks to its natural insulating power.
HOW IS HEAT MEASURED?
2 types of tests are carried out to measure the warmth level of our fleeces:
- a material test
- a test on a thermal dummy in a thermal chamber. Here we reproduce the temperature, wind (5km/h) and humidity conditions you'd encounter in the mountains during a 5km/h walk
These tests validate our design choices, and everything is validated by testers in the field.
This fleece has a comfort temperature of between 7 and 10°C (without a jacket over it).
HOW DO YOU TEST RESISTANCE?
We age-test our hiking fleeces to guarantee their durability. We guarantee:
- resistance to abrasion from backpacks and arms in motion, to delay the onset of pilling
- seam strength
- resistance of fleece material after washing
- colorfastness after washing, against UV rays and perspiration.
