It's got a scraped component on the inside: the fiber is "scraped" several times to create a fluffy insulating surface. In concrete terms, each fiber strand stores air and acts as an insulator, providing a sensation of thermal comfort.

Other things to keep in mind about this jacket

This fleece has 2 zipped side pockets for documents or small accessories. There's also a vertical breast pocket. The elbows of the jacket are lined with suede, for a soft, velvety feel.
