TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Product waterproofing

The jacket's waterproofness was tested in the rain for 3 hours.
This test reproduces the conditions of a heavy mountain thunderstorm.

Waterproof fabric

We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure expressed in mm water column (test based on ISO 811).
The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric.
A textile component with a waterproof rating of 2,000mm will therefore withstand the pressure exerted by 2,000mm of water (roughly equivalent to a 2-hour shower).
With a waterproof rating equivalent to 15,000mm, the jacket offers a very high level of waterproofing.

Breathable fabric

Hood

The volume of the hood has been designed to be worn over a ski touring helmet. For us, designing products adapted to the practice of our sport is our main objective.
Height and depth adjustments enable this volume to be adjusted according to need (with or without a helmet).
A semi-rigid visor enhances forehead and eye protection. The collar rises high enough to offer good face protection.

Pockets and zippers

Outside: 2 large pockets with waterproof zips. The volume of these pockets is large enough for skins. There's also a small security pocket on the arm for a credit card or ski pass.
Inside the jacket: 1 zipped pocket for storing your phone.
Pockets are positioned on the chest for easy access when wearing a harness on glacier terrain.

Ventilation

If you want to wear your jacket throughout your outing without taking it off, you can use the vents we've chosen to position under the arms. Open them on the way up - it's the best way to avoid sweating too much - and close them on the way down to prevent the wind from penetrating and chilling you.

Snow skirt

If you're lucky enough to enjoy a good deal of fresh snow on your ski touring outing, the snow skirt will be your ally. It will prevent snow from getting underneath your jacket and getting you wet. If, on the other hand, the snow hasn't fallen for several days, you won't need this snow skirt and you can easily remove it thanks to a small zipper.
You can do this as often as you like.

Maintenance tips

Wash at 30°C. Choose a liquid detergent and do not use fabric softener. Close zippers and adjust cuffs before putting the jacket in the machine.
Regenerate water repellency with a suitable treatment every time you wash. A full range of products designed for the care of waterproof and breathable fabrics is available in all our stores Decathlon. Their use will optimize the performance of your garment throughout its life.

Ergonomic cut

The lines of the jacket have been chosen to give you the best possible comfort during your ski outings.
Indeed, the jacket will be slightly loose so that you can easily wear a small down jacket underneath, as the model proposed is a waterproof jacket without a warm layer.
The elbows are preformed so that you won't be hindered in your movements with your arms. The hood follows your head's movements perfectly, without restricting your field of vision vision.

RECCO® System

100% of our freeride jackets and pants are equipped with the RECCO® system.
With RECCO® technology, you can be located in the event of an avalanche accident. Equipped with RECCO® reflectors, a buried person can be located quickly and accurately by organized rescue teams using the RECCO® detector. RECCO® reflectors do not replace the use of a avalanche beacon. While complementary in function, RECCO® technology increases the chances of being found in time.

Washing your waterproof garment tutorial

We recommend that you follow this protocol every time you wash your garment, to ensure that it retains all its technical characteristics.

After three washes, we recommend that you reactivate the water-repellent properties with a spray or impregnation treatment.
