Windproof:
Water repellency is achieved by applying a treatment that prevents water from adhering to the surface of the fabric.
Water "slips" off without being absorbed, so the garment remains light, breathable and warm. However, this does not mean that the garment is waterproof.
This treatment can be repeated to maintain its effectiveness. Sprays to be applied on the outside are preferable to laundry additives, which could reduce the product's breathability.
Water-repellent:
It's very important to be protected from the wind, whether you're working or resting, because it cools the body enormously. According to the 'Windchill' model, which measures the temperature felt under the influence of wind and cold: for a temperature of 5°C, combined with a 30km/h wind, the temperature felt will be 0°C. If the air temperature is 0°C and the wind speed is 30km/h, the temperature felt will be -6°C. The components in our products counteract the effects of wind.
Microporous membrane :
The membrane is a polyurethane layer sandwiched between the outer and inner materials of the softshell jacket. It protects against the wind and ensures that body heat is not lost. This membrane is also breathable: it evacuates water vapor generated by the body (thanks to its microscopic pores) to the outside of the garment, preventing condensation on the inside and keeping the wearer dry and warm!
