The four-layer principle for staying warm on a mountain bike.
The first layer is generally a technical undergarment.
The jersey worn as the second layer plays a thermal role: it insulates against the cold outside and retains the heat produced by the body.
The third layer is a jacket. It is fitted and breathable to complete an efficient ensemble and wick away moisture.
The fourth layer is a rain jacket.
Clever design: cut, seams, materials...
The bib on the rear reaches down to saddle height to protect you from splashes.
The various fabrics provide warmth, ventilation and resistance.
The neckband is detachable and can be easily stored in the rear pocket.
Pockets
Your jacket's clever new pocket system lets you take the essentials with you on hikes... and access them easily:
- Chest: 1 secure, water-repellent, zipped pocket for your smartphone
- Back, right side: 1 secure, water-repellent, zipped pocket.
- Left side: 1 large, secure, zipped pocket for your keys, papers...
Team advice
If you're new to mountain biking, think helmet and gloves: not just for falls, but also for branches! For comfort, a pair of shorts with an integrated skin prevents chafing.
A water bottle or water bag keeps you hydrated.
And a puncture-proof spray is a must: so you can finish your ride without having to tinker.
