Practice-friendly setting
We've designed the aluminum frame for comfort and lightness. The frame's pronounced inclination makes it suitable for children from 135cm to 150cm, and 26-inch wheels make it easy for budding cyclists to get on and off the bike thanks to the low step-over.
Why 26-inch wheels?
Larger wheel diameters absorb roots and scree with greater ease.
On descents, the frame remains more horizontal, making riding easier.
A larger wheel also makes riding more comfortable, so you cover more distance in one pedal turn!
Gear shifting: single-plate shifting like the pros!
Discover the efficiency and ease of a single chainring:
1 chainring with 34 teeth and 7 gears (Mega range freewheel in 14-34). With just 1 lever on the handlebars, shifting gears is child's play. The trigger lets you shift up or down with a flick of the finger.
The transmission range lets you accelerate on the flat and tackle climbs without compromise.
Master braking!
We've designed a brake lever that's close to the handlebars and easy to grip, as children's hands are smaller than adults'.
The aluminum lever is pleasant to the touch.
These levers are connected to 2 V-brake brake pads.
They consist of 2 calipers equipped with brake pads that apply varying degrees of pressure to the rim to slow or stop wheel rotation.
Front suspension
The front suspension allows you to tackle your first obstacles with complete peace of mind on slightly uneven trails.
No rear suspension
This mountain bike has no rear suspension.
This is a "semi-rigid" mountain bike: ideal for beginners and first family mountain bike rides.
Compared with a "full-suspension" mountain bike (with rear suspension), the advantage is simple: the mountain bike is lighter! You lose less energy on flat terrain.
An ergonomic, reinforced saddle
A saddle with a sporty design, conceived by us to adapt to children's morphology.
It has a plastic shell at the rear (bumper) to protect it from possible impacts.
Crankset
The new aluminum crankset has a crank length of 152 mm which is adapted to the child's leg length. This lightweight crankset makes it easier to start pedaling.
The double casing enclosing the chain prevents it from derailing.
Handlebars, stem, handles
With its 15° upward-angled stem, the EXPL 500 26" mountain bike's cockpit is elevated, accessible and comfortable.
More details:
-Aluminum stem, length 60 mm, with a 15° angle for maximum comfort
-Steel handlebars, 580 mm wide, adapted to children's shoulder width
-Slat grips, in "soft touch" material, for good grip, soft and pleasant contact
Wheel / Tire Info
Specific B'TWIN tires in 26 X 2.00 provide grip and comfort during mountain bike tours.
Recommended tire pressure is indicated on the tire sidewall (between 2 and 3 bars)
To transport the bike, we've made it easy to mount/dismount the front wheel. It's equipped with a quick-release system.
26" inner tube, section 1.7 to 2.2, schrader valve.
Mountain bike equipment
This mountain bike is equipped with a bell, lights, wheel reflectors (reflectors) and flat pedals.
The frame is also compatible with other accessories:
- front and rear mudguards
- kickstand
- bottle cage
- bike bag
