Racquet grip

Also known as the "handle" or "grip" of a racket, the grip is actually the first layer of material enveloping the handle of your racket. Generally thick, it can withstand frequent use and abrasion.

As a general rule, there are several criteria when it comes to choosing a racket grip, starting with your body type. Indeed, depending on the size of your hands, certain models are preferable for a better grip. Athletes with large hands will prefer thick grips, and vice versa. Racquet grips should also be selected according to your preferences in terms of feel and control.

Racquet overgrip

As the name suggests, the overgrip is placed on top of the racquet grip. This extra layer of material is generally thinner and softer, for a more pleasant feel.

Whereas a grip is selected primarily for its thickness, an overgrip has a number of properties that should be taken into account. We've just mentioned the feel of such a product, and now we'll mention the optimal grip it offers, as well as its absorbency; ideal for intense, sweat-inducing training sessions and matches.

Overgrips need to be changed more frequently than grips, because they are in direct contact with the player's hand. After a few sessions, depending on the quality of the product, a loss of grip may be noticed, requiring replacement of the overgrip. It is therefore advisable to adapt the model used to your needs.

When choosing your racket overgrip, you'll need to take into account a number of parameters based mainly on your personal preferences, whether in terms of texture, materials used or color.

How do you choose your racket shock absorber?

A racket shock absorber is an accessory placed directly on the string of your racket. Made from rubber or silicone, it absorbs the vibrations caused by strokes, as the name suggests. Every time the ball hits the racket, vibrations reverberate through the joints, causing pain.

Although snowshoe shock absorbers are not compulsory, they do offer a number of advantages, not least improved playing comfort. It affects not only the sound and feel of the racket, but also its touch.
