Our draisiennes and tricycles for learning to ride a bike

Toddlers can learn to ride a bike in complete safety, with the help of a baby carriage or tricycle. The draisienne is a mini-bike that allows children to ride with their feet, without pedals. Close to the ground and easy to handle, the draisienne is accessible from as young as 18 months. By offering your child this two-wheeler, he or she can prepare for the discovery of cycling and gradually get used to handling the handlebars and wheels. The tricycle, on the other hand, is farther removed from cycling, and is more about having fun, in complete freedom.

How to choose the right children's bike?

From the age of 3, children can start learning to handle a real children's bike. At first, it's a good idea to add small wheels to the rear of the bike for greater stability. When your child starts to gain self-confidence, usually around 4 years of age, these small stabilizing wheels can be removed.

To choose a sturdy model for your apprentice cyclist, you need to buy a bike that's right for your child's size. 12", 16", 20" (junior) wheels... Several sizes are available. Apart from that, we also advise you to pay attention to the steel or aluminum frame, the saddle, the suspension and the brakes.
